Special Needs Teacher- Chesterfield

Are you a qualified or newly qualified teacher who wants to gain valuable experience with children who have Special Educational Needs?

Teaching Personnel are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving the lives of children with their ability to teach. The provisions support both primary and secondary children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) which could include Autism, Asperger's, varying degrees of learning disabilities, physical disabilities and communication and interaction difficulties. The roles will be based in the Chesterfield area.

About Teaching Personnel:

Teaching Personnel are the UK's leading education recruitment agency and every academic year we provide staff to over 5,000 schools, delivering a national service on a local scale from our 80 branches. We pride ourselves on our stringent vetting procedures, high quality candidates and hard working recruitment consultants.

About the role and the candidate:

As a teacher in SEN provisions you will lead smaller classes of students and make lessons as accessible and engaging as possible. You will be supported by a welcoming team of staff in each provision you join. Preferably you will have experience with students with SEN and the ability to facilitate the specific requirements of pupils. You must be calm, patient and playful in order to build the best rapport with your SEN students and your lessons should reflect this positive and creative nature.

Experience in care settings, youth work, and children's homes or with SEN students in mainstream schools is welcomed too. You will need to provide your relevant qualifications and have a DBS of the Update Service (or be willing to get one).

Additional benefits:

By joining Teaching Personnel you will be supported throughout your career development. We run termly courses- such as Team Teach (teaching positive behaviour management and identifying triggers) and Moving and Handling (teaching safe movement of children in and around school)- which are recognised in schools. You will also have access to our online portal where you can book courses, update your work diary easily and access our Interview and Trial Day Preparation Guide. Pay is weekly and based on skills and experience, teachers are typically paid between £110- £165 per day.
