Job description

Teaching Personnel is the proud to partner of a leading specialist special educational needs (SEN) school committed to providing exceptional support and education to students with autism and complex learning difficulties. With our expertise in SEN recruitment, we are excited to assist the provision in finding a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work with students with Autism and Complex Learning Diffiulties within the classroom environment, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with SEN. This varied role offers a chance to contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with autism and complex learning difficulties, both in the classroom and during sensory activities.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement educational healthcare plans (EHPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Utilise the school's excellent facilities and sensory resources to engage students in stimulating learning experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team to inform instructional planning and interventions.
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks, as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with students with autism and/or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the needs of students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the role and the students.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, healthcare or a related field is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
