The school is an outstanding and successful school for children with complex and moderate learning difficulties. All pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for their educational needs. These statements are mainly for moderate learning difficulties, However many pupils have associated disabilities such as speech & language, autism and/or behaviour difficulties.

Encouraging confidence and ensuring pupils have access to their education entitlement; you will be teaching the national curriculum to pupils with additional needs and requirements. You must be confident with managing the behaviour of pupils in line with school policies and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils who require additional support.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Must be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent and experience teaching to GCSE level.
  • Some or excellent knowledge of Special Educational Needs.
  • Should either have experience of working with students with SEN, communication difficulties or complex needs or have a strong interest and a passion to teach pupils with SEN.
