Due to an upcoming maternity leave at our client secondary school, there is a need for a qualified MFL teacher with a Spanish specialism.

  • September 2019 start date
  • 2 term position initially, possibility to extend
  • Spanish timetable for the entire duration
  • Excellent facilities in newly-built secondary
  • Good links to public transport for non-drivers

Our client secondary school is a mixed community school for students aged 11-16, serving a rich and diverse catchment area in Rochdale. In their most recent Ofsted inspection in 2018, the school was judged to continue being a Good school with staff who are proud to work at the school. A positive culture for staff who feel valued has proved to be successful in ensuring outcomes for pupils are strong throughout. Teaching and learning standards have improved in recent years and a larger than average number of students make better than expected progress.

As the position will be starting in September, the incoming Spanish teacher will assume responsibility for the delivery of Spanish across KS3/4, along with tracking levels of progress and attainment then liaising with the department lead. Languages have a positive uptake in the school for GCSE options and students are eager to learn and immerse themselves in the culture. Behaviour at the school is noted to be good during lessons and around school.

The school are open to all levels of experience, including those who are newly qualified and would welcome an enthusiastic NQT looking at their first post in education as well as an experienced practitioner who could bring a wealth of experience to a vibrant department.

If you are a Spanish teacher looking for your next position in September and would like to be taken into consideration for this position, then please send your CV in response to the advert or call Miles on the number provided.
