Sociology Graduate – Behaviour & Pastoral Support Role (WN6)

Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Up to £95 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the WN6 area of Wigan is seeking a Sociology graduate to join their pastoral or behaviour support team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone considering a career in education, youth work, social care, or mentoring.

Your Role Will Include:

• Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, or wellbeing challenges

• Working 1:1 and in small groups to build trust, resilience, and motivation

• Assisting with restorative practices and conflict resolution

• Helping to deliver interventions focused on emotional regulation, inclusion, and positive relationships

• Collaborating with the pastoral, SEND and safeguarding teams to provide holistic support

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has a degree in Sociology or a related subject

• Understands the impact of social and cultural factors on education and behaviour

• Is empathetic, confident, and committed to making a difference

• Can build strong relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds

• Has experience in education, youth work, community work, or similar (preferred but not essential)
