Psychology Graduate – School-Based Role (WN6)

Location: WN6, Wigan
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Up to £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about child development, behaviour, and mental health? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting before pursuing further study or a career in education, clinical or educational psychology?

We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in the WN6 area of Wigan seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology graduate to join their pastoral or SEND support team in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support academically, emotionally or socially.

The Role:

• Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs

• Assisting with classroom activities, behaviour management, and emotional regulation strategies

• Working under the guidance of SENCOs, behaviour leads or pastoral teams

• Helping deliver tailored interventions to improve focus, confidence and resilience

• Building strong, supportive relationships with young people

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold a degree in Psychology or a related subject

• Have a genuine passion for working with young people

• Be patient, empathetic, and resilient

• Be considering a career in education, youth work, or psychology

• Previous experience in schools, youth work or care is desirable but not essential
