TEACHER OF SOCIAL SCIENCE OR HUMANITIES
(Maternity Cover – Potential TLR Opportunity)

Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Social Science or Humanities to join a forward-thinking and supportive school for a fixed-term maternity cover starting in September 2025.
The successful candidate will play a key role within the faculty, contributing to outstanding teaching and learning practices and supporting the ongoing development of a well-sequenced and engaging curriculum. The position includes the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) for the right candidate.
You will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate with faculty leaders on curriculum design and delivery.

Coach colleagues through deliberate practice to raise the quality of teaching.
-
Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
-
Uphold and promote the values and ethos of the school community.
-
Act as a form tutor and support the holistic development of students.
Who We’re Looking For

Holds a relevant degree and qualified teacher status (QTS).

Has a strong understanding of the Social Science or Humanities curriculum.

Demonstrates high expectations for all students and a commitment to inclusive education.

Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Shows a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver consistently high-quality lessons that enable excellent student progress.

Contribute to the implementation of robust tracking systems to monitor progress.

Foster a classroom and school culture of respect, responsibility, and high aspirations.

Promote student welfare and support a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with colleagues across the wider school trust to share best practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
