Speech and Language (SLCN) Teaching Assistant - Radcliffe, Bury (M26) primary school

  • Teaching assistant with SLCN experience essential
  • Start date - 7th January
  • Salary between £270 - £300 a week

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school in the Radcliffe, Bury (M26) area, searching for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in the Year 1 class to work with a child with Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN). The role will be to support the pupil in the class room to help engage the National Curriculum and use 1:1 support outside of the class room in interventions.

The role will involve 1:1 sessions using repetition to help develop fine motor skills and small interventions to go over class work outside of the class room as the child has undiagnosed learning difficulties.

Experience using different phonics schemes is essential to support the child and experience using PECs to help communicate with the pupil is desirable.

The Bury primary school is a very large school and has excellent facilities and can offer CPD courses for the suitable candidate to advance the progress of their own professional learning. The primary school is in a socially deprived area of Bury and so the Head Teacher is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is reliable and resilient in a class room setting.
