SENIOR LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Permanent | Term Time Plus Additional Working Days
30 Hours per Week | 40 Weeks per Year

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Senior Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive specialist education setting. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of additional learning and developmental needs within a nurturing and highly collaborative environment.
The setting supports children with diverse educational profiles, including moderate and severe learning needs, communication and language differences, autism and attention-related needs. Small class sizes enable staff to provide meaningful, individualised support and build positive relationships that help pupils succeed.
As a Senior Learning Support Assistant, you will work under the direction of teaching and leadership staff to support learning, wellbeing and classroom delivery. The role includes contributing to planned educational activities, providing classroom cover where required, leading learning sessions when appropriate, and helping maintain an effective and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support pupils’ learning, engagement and personal development
• Deliver planned learning activities and provide classroom support
• Undertake occasional planned and unplanned class cover when required
• Lead small groups or whole-class activities where appropriate
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupil wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider support teams
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured and inclusive environment
• Adapt support approaches to meet individual pupil needs

Working Pattern
• 30 hours per week
• 40 weeks per year (term time plus additional working days)
• Monday to Friday: 8:50am – 3:10pm
• Includes one weekly after-school team meeting (typically one hour)
• Additional annual hours allocated across training and development sessions during the year

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
