SEND Teaching Assistant – Sedgefield

A supportive and inclusive school in Sedgefield is seeking an enthusiastic SEND TA to join their team and provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Location: Sedgefield
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Full-time (long-term cover) – SEND Teaching Assistant
About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
-
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and review individual education plans (IEPs).
-
Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to promote engagement, learning, and progress.
-
Assist with emotional regulation, social development, and behaviour management.
-
Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or care setting.
-
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) is desirable.
-
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
