SEND Teacher
Job description
Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher eager to support young people with Special Educational Needs?
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary Special Provision in Bury to recruit a committed Teacher. The school has pupils from ages 11 to 18 and provides a variety of excellent facilities and equipment to best aid pupils personal development and independence. Within this role you would be working alongside experienced classroom staff who have a high commitment providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions meeting the needs to pupils
- Be confident to collaborate and lead a team
- Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupil’s progress
- Demonstrate a positive, supportive and safe learning environment
- Regularly with schools SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans
- Promote social and emotional development alongside academic achievements
- Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies effectively
About You:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience in teaching young people with SEND needs and adapting learning materials for each child
- Strong understanding of SEN needs, differentiation and therapeutic, trauma – informed approaches
- Have knowledge and experience working with challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of SEND support strategies, interventions and suitable practises
- Ability to work with and lead a team of teaching assistants

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
