Job description

eaching Personnel is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and resilient individuals to join our team as SEND Support Assistants across Tyldesley and the surrounding areas. You will work in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) schools, supporting children and young people who require additional help to reach their full potential.

This role is perfect for anyone with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners and making a real difference in their educational journey.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.

  • Help pupils develop social and emotional skills, resilience, and confidence.

  • Support behaviour management in line with school policies.

  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (in education, youth work, or care settings) is desirable.

  • Knowledge of SEND or SEMH needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, trauma, attachment issues) preferred.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

  • Must hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS on the update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
