Youth Worker
Job description
Are you a Youth Worker looking to make a difference in education?
Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced and passionate Youth Workers to join our team, supporting pupils in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools across Tyldesley and nearby areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Youth Workers who want to bring their skills into a school environment — helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop emotional resilience, and reach their potential.
About the Role:
As a Youth Worker in school, you’ll:

Support pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis, helping them engage in learning.
-
Use your relationship-building skills to provide guidance, encouragement, and stability.
-
Support behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation.
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a positive and supportive environment.
-
Promote personal development, confidence, and social skills.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience working with young people in a youth work, residential care, or alternative provision setting.
-
A calm, empathetic, and resilient nature.
-
Understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed practice, or de-escalation techniques (advantageous).
-
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed in education.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
What You’ll Gain:
-
Competitive daily rates of pay.
-
Access to free training and CPD opportunities through Teaching Personnel.
-
Support from a dedicated consultant who understands SEND and SEMH education.
-
Opportunities for long-term or permanent placements.
-
A chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people every day.
