History Teacher

Location: St Helens/Surrounding Areas 
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP


Role Overview

Teaching Personnel is seeking a fully qualified History Teacher (QTS required) to work within Secondary SEN schools in St Helens/Surrounding Areas. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive History lessons across KS3 to KS5, covering the full History curriculum while adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with special educational needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3–KS5.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to support SEN learners.
  • Ensure lessons are accessible, engaging, and aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with SEN specialists and support staff to implement effective strategies.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in History.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach the full History curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with SEN students in a secondary setting.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons for a range of learning needs.
