Job description

SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary) – Southampton

Are you an empathetic and reliable individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have personal or professional experience working with children with complex needs and associated behaviours? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a caring and committed team at a specialist primary SEN school in Southampton. The school supports children aged 5–11 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Global Developmental Delay, and severe learning difficulties.

This is a term-time only role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm.

Key Requirements:

  • Personal or professional experience supporting children with SEN and/or behavioural needs

  • Willingness to carry out personal care (e.g., toileting, changing, feeding where necessary)

  • Available full time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:00pm)

  • GCSE English and Maths at a pass grade (or equivalent)

  • A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
