Are you an experienced LSA ready to support young people who’ve faced significant challenges in life?

Teaching Personnel is working with a small, specialist secondary school that supports students with a history of trauma, anxiety, high-functioning autism, and school avoidance. This nurturing school is looking for calm, consistent and emotionally intelligent Learning Support Assistants to join their team.

This is a full-time, term-time only role offering £13.75 per hour. If you’re the right fit, the school is keen to offer a long-term or permanent contract.

The Role:

You’ll work closely with pupils who can display challenging or unsettled behaviour. Your main task will be to help them feel safe, build trust, and engage them in learning.

You’ll need to:

  • Provide individual and small group support within the classroom.

  • Use clear boundaries and routines to support emotional regulation.

  • Be adaptable to a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

  • Help pupils access learning at their pace, in a way that works for them.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Someone with experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally in trauma-informed or SEN settings.

  • A calm, patient and grounded individual who can offer stability and encouragement.

  • Someone who understands the importance of structure, routine, and emotional safety.

  • A flexible team player with the resilience to support students through challenging moments.
