SEN Tutor Opportunities Available – Northampton & Surrounding Areas
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?
TP Tutors is currently recruiting specialist SEN Tutors to provide high-quality, personalised 1:1 tuition across Northampton and surrounding areas. This is a highly rewarding role supporting learners who require tailored educational support outside of mainstream settings.
The Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition designed around each learner’s individual needs, abilities, and EHCP targets (where applicable). Many learners may be out of school or require support to re-engage with education.
Your focus will be on:
- Building trust and positive relationships
- Creating safe, structured learning environments
- Delivering engaging, accessible lessons
- Supporting emotional regulation and confidence
- Helping learners make meaningful academic progress
Locations Covered
• Northampton
• Towcester
• Wellingborough
• Daventry
• Surrounding NN postcode areas
Subjects / Learning Areas
Depending on learner needs:
- Core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
- Primary curriculum support
- Life skills and functional skills
- Catch-up and intervention learning
- Personalised SEN learning programmes
Learner Needs You May Support
You will work with students who may have:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- School anxiety or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking tutors who are:
✔ Experienced working with SEN learners (essential or strong desirable)
✔ Calm, patient, and resilient
✔ Skilled at building rapport with hard-to-reach learners
✔ Confident delivering differentiated, creative learning
✔ Able to adapt sessions in real-time based on learner needs
✔ Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students
Desirable Experience
- SEN teaching or SEN support roles
- SEMH or behaviour support experience
- Alternative Provision experience
- Tuition or intervention delivery
- Experience with EHCP targets

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
