Job description

Have you got experience of supporting children with additional needs?

Do you have the knowledge needed to provide specialized support and guidance on a one-to-one basis outside of mainstream schools?

This SEN role involves working with children and providing educational sessions face to face with children at their homes or a local area (e.g., library) and ensuring to plan resources around the child’s needs. This could be likely on developing their learning in Maths and English. This tutor role also requires skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with tasks and managing and implementing a range of behaviour strategies.

All pupils for this role will be based in Leicester and the surrounding areas.

To be successful you will need:

  • A relevant teaching qualification ( QTS or at least a minimum of two years teaching experience) .
  • Experience working with SEN/SEMH
  • Able to assess and plan tuition sessions
  • Enthusiastic, engaging and resilient

It is desirable if you:

  • Have experience working with children in a tuition capacity
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs or a willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
