Job Title: SEN Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored support and guidance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons and activities to promote academic progress and personal development
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure effective communication and support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - IDEAL
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of special education practises and strategies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience working as a SEN Tutor or in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
  • Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education
  • Training in specific SEN interventions and therapies

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom setting
  • May require travel to different school locations
  • Full-time hours with occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or events

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
