An SEN school in Reading are currently seeking a teacher or instructor for a September 2020 start.

The school caters for Primary and Secondary aged students with learning difficulties that include Autism, ADHD, Complex needs, obsessive compulsive disorder and attachment disorders.

It is vital to the school that a positive learning environment is created, where both the students and the staff enjoy learning and where there are opportunities for pupils to progress into college or further work-related learning. They have a unique curriculum to mainstream schools and believe in nurturing and supporting student's individual needs.

If you have a proven track record of delivering excellence and also have a history of dealing with complex needs and challenging behaviour, then this position may be for you. The position is:

• Full time - working from 8.30am to 4pm

• Long term - starting immediately and going permanent for the right candidate

• To teach a range of subjects Primary and Secondary aged students with a variety of special needs

 

About you:

• Have experience teaching students with SEN as either a teacher or instructor

• You will be confident, determined, resilient, approachable, positive and motivated.

• You will be calm, caring and conscientious

• Commitment, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills is essential Key skills and experience needed:

• Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools or Pupil Referral Units

• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience

• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour

• SEN experience is essential

• One to one and small group work

• Professional manner

• Enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach
