Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist provision in the Accrington area. The roles include flexible adhoc, part-time, and full-time opportunities to suit the right candidate.
This position is ideal for individuals with strong behaviour management skills who are confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs

Implement behaviour support strategies and individual plans
-
Support de-escalation and emotional regulation in line with school policies
-
Build positive, professional relationships with pupils to encourage engagement
-
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
-
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour (school, PRU, alternative provision, care, or youth work backgrounds welcomed)

Strong, consistent behaviour management skills
-
A calm, resilient, and patient approach
-
Confidence managing incidents and using de-escalation techniques
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
