SEN Teaching Assistant - Wirral

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants/LSA's to work within a Special Educational Needs School in Wirral. We are looking for people that are flexible and can work on a day to day basis as well as people that would like full time, long term work

The rate of pay for this school is £9.50 per hour.

The School

Our client school is an over-subscribed community day school which caters currently for children aged 11-16 years with varying SEN including: ASC, multi-sensory impairment, hearing or visual impairment with additional needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex physical disabilities and additional medical needs including progressive and degenerative conditions.

Responsibilities

*To encourage pupils to join in with all activities and to take a full and active part in school life.

*To support and care for the child in their toileting needs.

*To prepare, modify and adapt resources and learning materials for the pupil as agreed with the class teacher and other professionals.

*To assist with personal care including feeding and toileting and changing.

*To encourage the pupil to develop a positive self image, and to develop confidence in their abilities and communication with others.

Requirements

You must have had solid experience working with children and/or young people with complex and severe learning disabilities including. As this role has a large personal care element, you must be comfortable with attending to children feeding and toileting needs. Additional training and experience such as Moving and Handling, Team-Teach, Peg feeding, PECS, Personal Care would be highly beneficial.
