ADHD - SEN Teaching Assistant for North Salford Primary School - January Start

Supporting a child with ADHD on a 1:1 basis

Various withdrawal and inclusion strategies required

A "Good" primary school in the Swinton area of Salford, M27, are currently working with Teaching Personnel on a preferred supplier basis. As a result, they are working closely with us to support various children within the school who have additional SEN needs.

There is a particular child in Year 4 who has been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit) and needs the support of a teaching assistant on a full time basis from Easter ideally. The child displays a number of challenging behaviours which can be related to their inability to communicate effectively and a short attention span.

- Working within a large upper key stage 2 department.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you would be expected to build effective communication and relationships with the Year 4 child and with other children within the Year 4 class. Using strategies and techniques that work for the child, supporting ADHD can be both challenging and rewarding, but this particular school provides a great environment to allow all children to learn.
