Job description

Full-time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - January 2020

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a secondary school in Salford who is currently looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Due to an unexpected staffing change, our client school requires an additional teaching assistant to join their team from January 2020.

Our client school has recently been refurbished with modern facilities including a brand new ASC provision. This provision has been incorporated into the school due to the increased amount of pupils with ASC within the school. These identified pupils require support away from the mainstream school setting due to their learning difficulties and special educational needs.

  • Full-time SEN teaching assistant.
  • Role available from January 2020.
  • Working within the ASC provision at a secondary school in Salford.
  • Supporting pupils with ASC and other SEN difficulties.
  • Supporting with subjects such as Maths and English.
  • Ensuring class teachers have the support they enquire within the classroom.

Application Requirements

  • Must have some form of experience with pupils who have SEN.
  • Any specific experience with Autism is desirable.
  • Any experience within an education setting is also desirable.

Working within our client school, the responsibilities and roles involved will be:

  • Working within a recently refurbished ASC provision supporting pupils with ASC and other SEN both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Ensuring class teachers have all the support they require.
  • Helping to plan activities for pupils at various levels of learning ability.
  • Supporting with a variety of subjects including English and Maths.

Our client school is located in Salford and is easily accessible via the M60 and A580 from surrounding areas such as central Manchester and Bolton. Our client school is also accessible via public transport from the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.
