Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you a caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Tavistock from September 2025.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, working closely with primary-aged pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

About the Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs

• Support class teachers in delivering tailored, engaging lessons and managing behaviour positively

• Help pupils to regulate emotions and build social and communication skills

• Assist with planning and preparation of learning resources and classroom activities

• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in a primary setting

• A nurturing, consistent, and patient approach to support behaviour and learning

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn

• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
