Location: Plymouth
Pay: £90–£95 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: January 2026 – Ongoing
The School and the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and adaptable Autism Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative-provision setting in Plymouth. In this role, you will help create a calm, structured environment where learners feel safe, supported, and ready to engage.
You will build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, offering guidance through emotional and behavioural challenges and modelling effective strategies for self-regulation. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will tailor your approach to individual needs, deliver targeted interventions, and celebrate every step of progress. Your focus will be on consistency, well-being, and enabling pupils to re-connect with their learning journey.
Requirements
We are looking for an Autism Support Assistant with:

Experience working with primary-aged children

Experience supporting pupils with SEND
-
A genuine passion for supporting pupil progress

The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
