SEN Teaching Assistant (Post-16)

Date posted : 10/10/19
£58.50 - 65.50 per day + via PAYE

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or Support Worker looking for a new challenge?

Or are you passionate to work with SEN pupils, particularly with ASC (Autism)?

If so, apply to work with us today! We are actively recruiting for several long-term teaching assistant positions available at one of our partner schools local to Attleborough.

We are seeking keen and motivated individuals, who are looking to begin or continue their career within the education sector. If successful, you will be working with Secondary (11-16 years) and Post-16(16-18 years) pupils as part of a very supportive team who work hard to encourage and support the learning and development of pupils in their school.

The pupils you will work with are statemented with low-functioning autism, which means you will need to manage very challenging and disruptive behaviours. Class sizes are much smaller than a mainstream school and ratios of support staff to pupils are high – due to the needs and requirements outlined on each pupil’s EHCP. No two days will be the same at work, one day you could be working 1:1 and the next in a class of 5-8 pupils with different needs and abilities.

This welcoming school, based in a calm and rural setting, tailors it’s curriculum to support the needs of pupils. As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you will be working with  pupils who have difficulties with social communication, imagination, and have restricted, repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests and/or activities. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and development of pupils.

For this role, you must be available to work 8.30am until 3.30pm on either a full-time or part-time basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the location of this school, you will be required to have your own transport.

Apply now, to make a real difference to education for Post-16 pupils with additional needs!
