Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a secondary school in Darlington to recruit a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The successful candidate must have relevant experience working with children with learning difficulties and be fully dedicated to this role. The role is for full time work, commencing in September 2019.
As a PMLD classroom assistant, you will be working with children in Key Stages 3 and 4, accompanied by a teacher. The children and young people you will be working with will have a variety of learning and special needs requirements so a desire to help and exposure to similar PMLD and SEND settings will be required. The role will involve:
- Assisting day to day classroom support and assisting with behaviour
- Students age range 11-16
- Developing good relationships with pupils
- Encouraging students to interact with other students within the classroom and activities led by the teacher
Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of £57-65 per day however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. The role will be held until the end of August.
