Students may have speech, language or communication delays, and will need support in communicating their needs and emotions, as well as patience in helping them to understand tasks and their routines - experience using Picture Card Exchange or Sign Language would be ideal but can be picked up easily during work.
Alongside class work and activities, you may be required to support with occupational therapies, personal care and toileting and break/meal times.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is caring, patient and understanding of their needs, who can provide a secure environment and promote enjoyment through education so the students feel happy at the end of every day!

If you have experience in childcare, education or special needs you already have a head start in becoming successful for this role, however Teaching Personnel do consider personal experience and can provide opportunities for personal development through a wide range of courses, exclusive to registered Teaching Personnel staff!

This opportunity is available on a full time temporary contract, but the school are hoping to be able to offer the role permanently in the next few months!

To work in a school you need a Child Workforce DBS certificate which is registered to the update service - if you don't have one, don't worry! We can support you through the application process.
