Job description

A school in Carnforth are seeking Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistants to provide additional support to young people, aged 2-19, with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulteis, Complex Needs and Autism. 

Your role will involve supporting children in the classroom, in small groups and on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis. 

The pupils have very complex requirements and a number of them are non-verbal. 

Class sizes are small, generally 5-8 students per class and the students are working at low cignitive levels. 

The school provides regular alternative therapy to children including rebound therapy and hydrotherapy, therefore a willingness to participate in this would be desirable. 

Candidates with experience in PECS and Makaton are highly sought after but this is not essential. 

The school is located within 10 minutes of junction 35 on the M6 motorway and has good public transport links.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
