SEN Teaching Assistant

Date posted : 10/02/21
£65 - 75 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you a passionate individual, looking to work with SEN pupils and support them to overcome barriers to education such as Anxiety and Mental Health?

This vacancy is open to Students, Graduates, Healthcare Workers, Support Workers, Counsellors, Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, and those with personal experience of managing Autism, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour.

If so, apply to work with us today! We are actively recruiting for several long-term teaching assistant positions available at one of our partner schools local to Daventry, to start once lockdown is lifted. The school will be hoping to take the successful candidates onto a permanent contract, following an introductory period with Teaching Personnel.

Together with the education provider, we are seeking keen and motivated individuals, who are willing to get ‘stuck in’ from the get-go. If you are looking to begin or continue their career within the education sector, this could be the school for you!

If successful, you will be working with pupils between the ages of 5-11 years as part of a very supportive and welcoming team who work hard to encourage and support the learning and development of pupils in their school. We have recently had a few members of staff start work at the school, all say how friendly and welcoming the team were!

The pupils you will work with all have either SEMH and/or autism, which means you will need to manage very challenging and disruptive behaviours on a regular basis. Class sizes are much smaller than the rest of the school and ratios of support staff to pupils are high – due to the needs and requirements outlined on each pupil’s EHCP. No two days will be the same at work; one day you could be working 1:1 and the next in a class of 5-8 pupils with different needs and abilities.

Teaching Personnel can offer you a wide range of CPD courses in SEN, to support you in your career. Courses include Teaching Assistant Diplomas, Child Psychology and Understanding Autism.

Like to know more? Get in touch with the branch on 01604 376 814 or send over your CV to Alex.timothy@teachingpersonnel, to be contacted. I look forward to speaking with you soon!

If this role is not best suited to you, get in touch as we do have others available in the area!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
