SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Pupil Referral Unit in Reading to recruit a support assistant to work with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and challenging behaviour on a full time basis.

The pupil referral unit covers all age groups, there are 4 sites across Reading and Newbury, each is specific to different age groups who are currently unable to access mainstream education for various reasons including:

• Children in Looked After Care
• Anxiety
• Exclusion
• Speech and language difficulties

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and will be confident managing this, you will benefit from Team Teach training in this role however it is not essential that candidates have the Team Teach qualification.

Candidates should be passionate about improving the lives of young people with SEN and have a kind and nurturing personality. You will be working in classes of between 5-8 students and will be accompanied by a teacher and another support assistant.

Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant's competitive pay rates of betweek GBP57 and GBP70 per day, the role is to start as soon as possible.
