SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in the Brighton area to recruit an Individual Needs Assistant from 20th April (start date may be altered) until the end of the academic year. The succesful applicant will be working with a female pupil in Year 4 who has autism and attachment disorder. As an INA, you will be responsible for assisting the pupil at all times throughout the school day- supporting them emotionally and academically. The school has a very experienced and supportive SENCO as well as an excellent and knowledgable teaching team who will provide guidance when necessary. The school has recently been graded 'Good' by Ofsted and prides themselves in good levels of behaviour and attainment across year groups; it is also close to public transport links and has a good reputation in the local community.
The successful applicant will have:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience working 1:1 with children in KS2
- Specific SEN experience, particularly experience relating to Autism
- Excellent behaviour management skills with the ability to stay calm in any given situation
- An empathetic nature with the ability to sympathise with the pupils struggles and specific needs
- A positive attitude with a genuine passion for working with children in the education sector
