SEN Teaching Assistant - Early Years and Autism required for Salford, M3 Primary School.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Early Years and Autism Supporting Reception Boy with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis – November start

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to improve communication and confidence

Due to the nature of the school, ethos and relationship with the local community, this above average sized primary school in Salford, are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in reception with Autism (ASC). The funding for this SEN Teaching Assistant hasn’t been confirmed yet, however this reputable Salford Primary School, pride themselves on supporting the local community and as a result, are putting measures in place to support a Reception aged boy.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you would be welcomed with open arms into a family of teaching staff with fantastic facilities and an experienced and supportive senior leadership team. • Experience of Autism (ASC)

• Working on a 1:1 basis to focus on developing social skills and communication

• Using visual aids to help the child communicate

• Experience of PECS or visual timetables would be useful • Varied communication strategies and techniques

• Experience of working with Autistic Children or young adults

If you have experience of working with children with autism (ASC) and have a working knowledge of working in a primary school within the Early Years or Key Stage 1 specifically, this would be the perfect role for you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
