Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant required for large Primary Academy, Salford, M3

ASC support work within Salford Primary School

Supporting behaviour and communication within Key Stage 1

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a large, 2 form entry primary school to recruit a new SEN Teaching Assistant. This primary school  are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work with a child with Autism. The pupil is due to start school in the coming weeks, they have Autism and are non verbal. The pupil is working well below average for their age so will need lots of support with Speech and Language.

This role requires someone who has experience of working with children with SEN, whether it’s on the verbal or non verbal spectrum. This school is a great place to work, with a friendly environment and a hard-working ethic. This is a great opportunity and one which could lead to a school’s permanent contract. You would be working closely with the school SENCO to help aid learning in school as much as possible.

The Role:

  • Year 1 Girl – Complex ASC needs, non-verbal, repetitive, visual learner.
  • Working closely with the SENCO and inclusion lead.
  • Supporting learning in class and outside of the classroom in key stage 1.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of working with Autism.
  • Children or young adults with Autism.
  • Youth work or Social Work Graduates.
  • Patience and calmness in stressful situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
