SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Behavioural Mentor/Teaching Assistant to work in an SEN school for those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). The school is accessed by good road and public transport networks and there is parking on site.

The role of working in SEN Support will consist of:
• Providing tailored support and working with children with SEMH and SEN (special education needs)
• Creating a safe environment that allows the children to have fun, learn and succeed
• Academic support of a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting the teacher

The Ideal Candidate
• Teaching assistant qualification would be desired but not essential
• Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis
• Experience of working with children in a youth setting

Position Details
• Location - Strood, Medway
• Position - SEN Teaching Assistant
• Contract Type - Temporary (with possible permanent opportunities)
• Minimum Daily Rate - GBP60
• Hours 8.30-15.30pm Monday - Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
