SEN Teaching Assistants challenge and motivate pupils by promoting and reinforcing self-esteem alongside providing individual pastoral support to pupils.

The School

This Oldham based school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs including pupils on the autistic spectrum. The Ofsted graded “Outstanding” secondary school is equipped with specialist support and facilities such as bright and attractive classrooms, specialist theatres and hydrotherapy pools to provide the very best learning experience.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you would be required to support pupils in the classroom, helping them to concentrate on their work and making sure noise levels are kept to a minimum.

Classes are small and teaching staff work closely alongside support staff. The role would include working with pupils aged 11-16 with various conditions and to provide a creative approach in the classroom environment to support a personalised learning journey.
