We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school that caters for children with complex needs which was rated as ‘good’ recently by OFSTED based in Stretford. 

The school offers a dynamic and unique curriculum which has been based on the National curriculum in order to order to fulfil the full potential of its pupils. Within the classes themselves, a group of between 8 to 11 children are supported by both a teacher and at least one teaching assistant. The behaviour of these pupils is impeccable and is highlighted as allowing great progress to be made by the students as well as enjoyable experience for those who work there.

The ideal Teaching Assistant for this role would be a person who has:

  • Experience of working with SEN children/ Willingness to train
  • A warm and friendly personality
  • A flexible and adaptable practitioner

The role of a Teaching Assistant would be to support the children in their development. Depending on the needs of the children /class you would support, this may be communication activities, play centred tasks or holistic therapies. Your role would be supported by a Teacher and one or more other Teaching Assistants.

The school is located in the Stretford area of Trafford so has fantastic links to public transport by bus, tram and train while not being far from Manchester City Centre.

  • GBP10 an hour or above
  • 13 weeks off per year.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
