SEN Teaching Assistant

Penzance

Teaching Personnel are working closely with schools in the South West Cornwall and are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil near Penzance. The role will be supporting a child with SEN on a full time basis.

The schools are seeking somebody who has previous experience of working with children / vulnerable people and in particular anybody with experience of supporting SEN. This experience can be either professional or personal. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the child with Literacy and Numeracy, as well as any other needs they may have within the day. You will be required to work to your own initiative and adapt and lessons that are set to suit their needs. You’ll be liaising with other professionals and parents in setting both academic and personal achievements and will work with the child to achieve these.

All successful applicants are required to undergo strict vetting procedures. This will include us obtaining references from your most recent and then most relevant employer within the past 6 years, an enhanced Child Only DBS if you don’t already have one and an interview.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
