EYFS, KS1 and KS2 – Learning Support Assistant
Do you enjoy supporting young people with learning?
Do you have experience of working in childcare or working with those who have special needs?
We are currently working with several fantastic and supportive primary schools in the Brent area. The schools are hoping to find enthusiastic LSA’s to work alongside the class teacher, through EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
We are massively interested in support staff that are comfortable and experienced working in small, focused groups and 1-2-1 sessions, assisting with those who have behavioural and learning difficulties. You will be expected to assist in managing their behaviour in and out of the classroom, but also to help understand the issues around learning that some pupils carry, looking to unlock their education through individual education plans, interventions, and feedback.
Full-time: (Monday to Friday)
Long-term / short-term: roles commencing in September 2022.
Pay: £70 - £90 per day.
Location: Brent, London.
Key Responsibilities
- Passionate about working with children with various needs, this could be speech, language, behaviour.
- A patient and warm personality, eager to develop and progress those early in their education.
- Ability to build relationships with children, allowing them to build confidence and develop communication.
- Incorporate the use of senses into learning, exploring different methods with each individual. Considering the choices, needs and wishes of each pupil and encourage them to make the right choices for learning.
Required Skills & Experience
- Have relevant childcare experience – working in a school / other childcare environment.
- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.

Essential criteria: Experience working with children/young people.
Desirable criteria: Mental health awareness training, Special Needs experience, Team Teach or positive handling training, MIDAS trained to drive school minibus, first aid trained.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
