Teaching Assistant – Secondary (Full-time, Immediate Start)
Wimborne Area – Supporting students aged 16–18

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a highly respected specialist education setting situated in a beautiful countryside location near Wimborne.

The school provides an exceptional learning environment for its students and is known for its supportive team culture, outstanding facilities, and personalised approach to education.

You will be working with students aged 16 to 18 in a secondary/college-style setting, supporting them in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.

Your role will involve helping students engage in classroom activities, develop their independence, and access learning in a meaningful and empowering way.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.30pm
Contract: Full-time, long-term placement
Start date: Immediate


 

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you are passionate about helping young people achieve their potential and can offer:

  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience in childcare or education, ideally supporting students with additional needs

  • A caring, patient and proactive approach to learning support

  • A valid driving licence and access to transport (the location is not easily accessible via public transport)


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in lessons and during activities

  • Encouraging independence and positive learning experiences

  • Building strong professional relationships with students and staff

  • Assisting the teaching team in delivering engaging sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
