We are seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Wimborne area. This is a unique opportunity to work in a stunning countryside environment where staff genuinely care about the progress and wellbeing of every student.

The school is well known for its welcoming team, excellent training culture, and a nurturing approach that inspires personal growth and independence in young people. You will be working closely with students aged 16 to 18 in a secondary/college-style environment, helping them remain engaged in learning and supporting them through day-to-day challenges.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building trusting, professional relationships with students

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support in lessons

  • Helping students to regulate emotions and stay focused

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

 

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 months of childcare or relevant support experience

  • Experience working with young people who may need additional support

  • Confidence, patience, and a calm approach when responding to challenges

  • A driving licence and access to transport, due to the rural location of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
