We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Worthing, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, patient and committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils across the primary age range. You will help children access learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive relationships
  • Adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Working alongside teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence and engagement
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children, particularly within an educational or SEN setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • A patient, nurturing and understanding approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude

Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, but we would also consider candidates with transferable experience who are passionate about working with children.
