SEMH Behaviour Mentor
Job description
Teaching Personnel is recruiting resilient and relationship-driven Behaviour Mentors for SEMH schools, alternative provisions and specialist support settings across Crawley.
These environments support pupils who may present with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- Trauma-related behaviours
- Anxiety and school avoidance
- Attachment difficulties
- ADHD
- Oppositional or challenging behaviour
The role
You will act as a consistent, trusted adult who can help pupils regulate emotions, engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Supporting behaviour within the classroom and around the school
- De-escalating incidents using restorative approaches
- Delivering mentoring and intervention sessions
- Building strong professional relationships with pupils
- Encouraging attendance, engagement and self-esteem
- Working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
Particularly suited to candidates from

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
