Job description

For students with autism, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, the right support person can be truly life-changing. Teaching Personnel is recruiting SEN Support Staff for schools in East Grinstead starting September 2026.

We are looking for warm, resilient individuals who understand that progress is not always measured in grades – sometimes it is a smile, a new friendship, or the confidence to try again.

  • Supporting students with autism, SEMH, and speech and language needs
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-regulation
  • Delivering personalised, tailored interventions
  • Building positive, trust-based relationships with students

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience in childcare, support work, youth work, or education (formal or voluntary)
  • Calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enthusiasm for making a real difference to young people's lives
