SEN Teaching Assistant – Worthing

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in education?

We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Worthing. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.

The Role

  • Support pupils with SEN including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Assist with classroom activities and personal development

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, youth work, or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
