Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a mainstream secondary school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start in January within the SEN department.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 5th January
  • Full-time position
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract with the school

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working within the schools SEN department, providing further learning and behavioural support for students who require it. This may include 1-1 or small group intervention with core subjects. You will also be required to work with the students to improve social and emotional regulation. Working alongside a strong team, you will ensure consistent progress is made with pupils and regular updates are provided to parents/carers when necessary.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with young people with SEN in any setting (including ASD and ADHD)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both students and staff
  • A patient, calm and empathetic approach to behaviour management
  • Good knowledge of SEN and behavioural management techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
