SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
One of our partnership SEN Provisions in South Manchester are looking for dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team!
In this role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher and other support staff to develop children’s social and emotional skills
- Engage in sensory activities and lessons
- Record and assess children’s progress and update EHCP plans
- Work with children on a 1:1 and small group basis
The school has fantastic facilities to support students with a variety of complex additional needs including:
- Autism
- Physical Disabilities
- Down Syndrome
- Visual and hearing impairments
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children/young adults with Special Educational needs in either a school/care setting or through personal experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to adapt to challenging situations to suit the needs of all children
- Full time availability during school hours

All candidates will be subject to standard vetting checks including:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- References covering the last 24 months’ worth of employment
- Overseas criminal clearance checks if you have been outside the UK for 6 months or more in the last 6 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
