Our Specialist SEN branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to work within schools across West Cornwall, focusing particularly in Penzance.
We are looking for people with flexible weeks in which they are able to receive calls from 7am for work within a school from 08:30-15:00. The work is Monday – Friday, meaning weekends, evenings and holidays will be for yourself. Teaching Personnel work with primary, secondary and SEN schools which will allow you to gain experience or work within your preferred sector. This is perfect if you are looking to gain experience or work across different schools.
A driving licence and access to a car is preferred as some of the schools are not easily accessible via public transport. Some of these calls may also come later in the morning and so a car would be beneficial for this. When going into schools, you will need to take your ID, DBS and a face shielding. If you don’t have a child only DBS registered to the Update Service, Teaching Personnel can help with this. References will also need to be obtained.
Role involves supporting the learners within the classroom and sometimes in a group setting inside and outside the classroom. It also involves guiding the student emotionally and behaviourally at times of stress and helping them to overcome their barriers to social interaction and emotional recognition. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
