SEN Teaching Assistant – Trafford (M16)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist provision in Trafford (M16), Manchester. The incoming TA will earn £80+ per day (dependent on experience) on a temporary contract, with the option to move onto a permanent school contract after a successful trial period through Teaching Personnel. This role will begin as soon as your are registered with Teaching Personnel.

The incoming Teaching Assistant will be supporting secondary-age pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). They will be expected to have the dedication and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs, encouraging every student to achieve their full potential.

Job Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting secondary-age pupils with MLD and SLCN. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Supporting students with their social and emotional development.
  • Creating and implementing individualised learning plans (EHCPs) to meet the needs of each student.
  • Promoting independence and self-confidence among students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with secondary-age pupils with MLD and SLCN is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous.
