Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with behaviour management and social skills development

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEN
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching Assistance or relevant field

Experience:

Prior experience working in a classroom setting with students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN strategies and techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or related field
  • Training in safeguarding and child protection

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment with students with SEN. The job may require some physical activity and the ability to adapt to different learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
